:: LOCATION
Hotel:
We're very pleased to again be working with the Holiday Inn Select Atlanta-Perimeter / Dunwoody. This beautiful and spacious venue offers great amenities to convention attendees. One of the best features is a very large, open atrium with comfy chairs and a huge amount of space in which to hang out. In fact, with the relocation of the bar and a wall, this space is even bigger now and is open to much more natural light. Please click here to see more photos (before and after) of the hotel
Book your room online! We're not quite ready to take hotel reservations yet but as soon as we are we'll provide a link here for you to use. Watch the home page or our Facebook for news!
Room Party Battle:
New! We're initiating our very first room party contest! Come up with an awesome theme for your room party and let us know. We'll advertise your party on our website so that people will know to look for you at the convention. There are two things you have to do: 1) Email Susan and let her know that you're planning to throw a party so that she can get your room blocked with the other convention rooms (make the subject "TimeGate Room Party"). And 2) Email Alan and let him know what your party theme is and he'll add it to the website!
About Atlanta:
Visit our new About the Area page to find out more details about restaurants, shopping, and attractions in the neighborhood of the hotel!
MARTA:
If you're flying in and plan on taking MARTA (the Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority), you can take one train the entire way. From the Airport, grab a train on the North Line bound for the North Springs Station and get off at the Dunwoody Station. The hotel runs a shuttle from the Dunwoody Station. (Note: There's also a NorthEast line bound for Doraville Station. If you get on a NE train at the airport, you can exit at Lindberg Station—the point where the two lines diverge—and catch the next Northbound) Here's a look at the rail map: http://www.itsmarta.com/getthere/schedules/index-rail.htm The Aiport is at the bottom, Dunwoody Station is at the top. Yes, you'll be traveling almost the entire length of the system. Bring a book! Or a Big Finish Audio! Its a long ride!

Hotel Renovations
Here's a selection of images showing off the results of the renovations our hotel has been going through for most of the past year. I hope that you'll find these as exciting as we do! ATRIUM Here's the old Atrium:
And here's the grand redesign:
These photos are from different angles, but you get the idea of the difference. The entire look has been brought up to date with more graphic elements.
LOBBY Again, I don't have exact shots for you, but these below are at least from the same angle and you can see how the bar has been repositioned. From Lobby looking into Atrium:
And the same thing from the new bar, which is now at the beginning of the Atrium, looking onto the back wall where the bar used to be:
RESTAURANT Our 2010 attendees have already seen the new restaurant, which is absolutely gorgeous. Here's a comparison for the rest of you. Old:
New:
This 'new' picture didn't turn out too well, its much too dark. The new space is very bright and airy with a very bold color pallette. you could describe it as eggplant and avocado I suppose. I'll go again and try to get a better photo.
BUSINESS CENTER The old business center was next to the lobby desk and had one small desk with two computer terminals:
In the new design, the biz center has been moved to the other side of the lobby and is now a series of work stations, so there will now be (I think) five computers available for use, which is a huge improvement.
RANDOM Here's some additional photos of the new space, starting with the space where the business center used to be. The Tenth Doctor would be SO pleased! They're adding a little shop! On the backside of that center wall, facing inside the shop, are two vending machines.
Here's another view of the all-important bar, this time from the Atrium looking back towards it.
Here's the new expansion of the open seating area at the end of the Atrium, which used to be a wall and a little-used hallway.
