(Saturday, 2:30) "Its Bigger on the Inside!": Doctor Who 101—Its a daunting task, learning all about a show that's been around for 44 years. We'll help to break it down for you Season Four: A Preview—Join us for a look forward at Season Four and what's in store for the Doctor, Donna, Martha, Jack and Rose. Torchwood: The Verdict So Far—After two seasons of the Doctor Who spin-off, how are Captain Jack and his merry band of malcontents doing? We'll look at some of the changes between Seasons One and Two, the additions of James Marsters and Freeman Agyeman to the cast, and what the future holds for the show. The Complete 5th Doctor—In the first of a series of panels, join us for an in-depth look at the adventures of the 5th Doctor, including not only his televised stories but also those from comics, novels and audios. TARDIS Repair for Dummies: The Science and Technology of Doctor Who—We'll take a look at the role of science (factual and fictional) in Doctor Who, and how it changed depending on producers, writers and script editors. The Hitchhiker's Guide to Doctor Who—Doctor Who and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy have Douglas Adams in common (well, and Peter Davsion, but that's another panel). In the year of Hitchhiker's 30th anniversary, we'll examine Adams' influence on Doctor Who and Doctor Who's influence on Hitchhiker's. Doctor Who In The '60s—Where it all began: We'll take a look at the time in which the show was created and how it developed over its first 6 years and first two Doctors. President Kennedy, Viet Nam, the Cold War, black and white, the Beatles, regeneration, anti-war movements, the moon landing, 2001: A Space Odyssey. This is the first in a series of panels and will a special tribute to Verity Lambert and pay homage to William Hartnell's 100th birthday. Everything I Needed to Know I Learned From Doctor Who—One of the mandates that Doctor Who was expected to fulfill in the beginning was to educate kids in history and science. So how educational has the series been? What have you learned from the show that you might not have otherwise? Doctor Who On Georgia Public Television —We'll take a look back at video clips of some of the Doctors' appearances on Georgia Public Television over the years. The Music of Time and Space—From Delia Derbyshire to Dudley Simpson, from Mark Ayres to Murray Gold, music has played an important role in the Doctor Who experience. We'll take a look (and a listen) to the composers who made our trips in the TARDIS come to life. After Tennant: The Future of Doctor Who—It seems more and more likely that the end for the 10th Doctor draws nigh. Rumours are flying about who will assume the role of the Doctor after David Tennant. What type of Doctor should follow such a dynamic performance? Who do you see in the role? What changes do you think the show should make? Humans, Aliens and Robot Dogs: The Companions—Where would the Doctor be without his trusty sidekicks? Ian and Barbara, Jo, Sarah Jane, Leela, Romana, K9, Nyssa, Ace, Charley, Rose, Donna and many others have rounded out the show and provided the audience with an entryway into the strange, the weird and the alien. This hour will be devoted to them. "Five Rounds Rapid": The UNIT Panel—With UNIT set to have an increased presence in Season Four (complete with a controversial namechange) we'll take a look back at the history of this organization, the role it played in the Doctor's life, and some of its key figures (the Brigadier, Sgt. Benton, Captain Yates and others). And we'll even try to figure out where the hell Torchwood fits into the picture! The Ultimate Smackdown: Classic Series vs. New Series—Join us for a good-natured look at Classic Who vs. New Who Doctor Who and Torchwood Fan Fic—Both shows have inspired whole communities of fan fiction authors—those ambitious people who simply aren't satisfied with wanting to see something happen on tellie, they make it happen in original fiction! We have two experts on the subject, both writers and avid readers of fan fic. |

PANELS: Q&A with Kevin Grazier—Kevin will field questions about his career with NASA, his work on Battlestar Galactica and Eureka, and his books The Science of 'Dune' and The Science of Michael Crichton. The Science of Dune—Dr. Grazier delves into the fascinating world of Frank Herbert's classic tales and investigates the science behind the myth. Swords and Sorcery: The Worlds of Fantasy Literature—Back in the early 1950s, J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis basically started a whole genre of fiction with the release of the Lord of the Rings and the Chronicles of Narnia series. We'll take a look back at almost sixty years of fantasy lit: from the early days with LOTR and Narnia up to the present day with popular new series like Harry Potter. And we'll also take a quick look at the recent trend to make movie adaptations of our favorite books. Just Another Day in Paradox: The History and Practice of Time Travel—From the time H. G. Wells put his pen down after finishing The Time Machine, time travel has been an important part of the science/speculative fiction genre. Decomissioned With Honour: Battlestar Galactica —As one of the best science fiction shows in years draws to close, we'll take a look at what made it so special, what its impact has been on televised SF, and what we can expect in its aftermath. Sherlock Holmes and the Unfilmable Hounds—Louis Robinson gives some interesting history on the slueth, the times in which he was created, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's life and attempts to escape his most famous literary creation. In particular he'll look at why The Hounds of the Baskervilles remains unfilmable. Gaming in the Apocolypse—Game designer David Harmer leads a discussion on apocolyptic themes in gaming and in literature. Learn how to survive zombies, nuclear winter, time shifts, and more! Eureka—Topic TBA. Star Trek: The Reboot—After the prequel debacle that was Enterprise, the franchise now gives it a second shot with the new movie under the guidance of J. J. Abrams. We'll take a look at how the movie is shaping up and what to expect when it hits theatres in December. A Visit to Saturn: The Cassini-Huygens Mission—Dr. Kevin Grazier of NASA's Jet Propulsion Labratory gives us an update on the historic Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and its moon Titan. The Trek Legacy—Few shows have had the impact on modern life that Star Trek has. We'll take a look at the franchise's many guises and how it inspired change in science and culture. Time Travelling for Beginners—So, a salesman on a street corner sells you a working time machine. What now? Where/when would you go? Would you venture to the future and see what's coming down the proverbial road? Or to the past? And if to the past....would you be an active or passive witness? Share you imaginary journey with others. Costuming 101—Join a panel of professional and experience amateur costumers and share your experiences and maybe get advice on how to tackle that sticky costuming problem you've been having. Songs in the Key of X—Join members of Hyperdrive as we take a look at (and a listen to) some examples of the crossover between the worlds of rock and pop music and the SF/Fantasy/Horror genres. We'll cover as much as we can, from acts heavily influenced by genre movies, shows and comics to mainstream artists contributing incidental music and full scores to genre (plus...the only rock album ever to be nominated for a Hugo award!). Beyond Who: The World of British Television—For many years, British television meant Doctor Who,
Monty Python, Are You Being Served and Masterpiece Theatre literary "They'll Be Back": The Expanding Terminator Universe—When Arnold said "I'll be back," he meant it. Since 1984, the first Terminator movie has spawned not only two direct movie sequels (T2 and T3), a new television series (The Sarah Connor Chronicles), a new movie (Terminator: Salvation with Christian Bale, due in 2009), books by Aaron Allston and S.M. Stirling and comic book tie-ins by Dark Horse (now Marvel/Malibu and Dynamite). We'll offer up a critique of the new Sarah Connor series, as well as the movies and how all these various Terminator projects fit together and what it all means for the new movie. Checking in on the WhedonVerse—Lars Pearson and Christa Dickson, both of whom have written guide books on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and on Angel, will lead a discussion of the rich textures, inventive settings and complex characters that make up the worlds of Joss Whedon.

Cabaret: This is a brand new thing for us. Our cabaret will be a very special event in which our guests will do their best to entertain you with song, skits, comedy, and other silliness. This event will be a $5 cover charge with the full amount being donated to charity (we're currently deciding which charity it will be and we have it narrowed down to a couple). More details will be announced soon! Human Chess: We're working on ideas to do a live recreation of a Harry Potter-styled Wizards' Chess...but the board will be Stargate vs. Doctor Who! Come dressed in any appropriate costume and play one of the chess pieces. Masquerade: Every con has to have one! We'll have three categories in which you can enter: Stargate, Doctor Who and General, with prizes in each. You can fill out an entry form for the Masque while you're at Registration. The rules are pretty simple, the basic common-sense ones: no nudity (you have to have all your naughty bits covered), no real weapons, etc. Team Trivia: Yes! Adam Levenstein will return with his Sci-Fi / Fantasy-themed team trivia event! A huge hit at past TG's, this will definitely challenge your knowledge. Bring a team of 4 players, or sign up for one at the con. Singles Mixer: Get your weekend started off right! Here's a great opportunity to get to know some of your fellow con-members
The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company—Time. It has come today, it's on our side, and it's famous for it's flight capabilities. It's also been a constant source of material for writers for decades. It's mysterious, fleeting, and in short supply. The Atlanta Radio Theatre Company invites you to spend some time with us as we bring you a series of chronologically themed audio dramas at TimeGate on Sunday, May 25 at 8:30pm. We'll have long-lost characters not seen in ages with "Terra Tarkington: Switch on the Bull Run" by Susan Webb, adapted for audio by Wendy Webb and Steven Nesheim. We'll have time-honored favorites such as "Rory Rammer, Space Marshal: Set Loose the Dogs of Time!" by Ron N. Butler. And we'll have new and current stories like "Wikihistory" by Desmond Warzel, adapted for audio by Ron N. Butler, as well as "Haunter Hunters" by Thomas Berry. We guarantee it won't be a waste of your...time.
The Mighty Rassilon Art Players—MRAP has a very special night planned for you! They'll be debuting a brand new play, a spoof mash-up of Doctor Who and James Bond, called "From TARDIS With Love". The Doctor and Donna are sent on a secret spy mission, and meet up with Sarah Jane and Captain Jack. Plus a few other surprises. This is one that you just have to see to believe!

Hypedrive, a cover band playing songs with SF/Fantasy/Horror influences, will be doing a special acoustic set for the dealer reception in the hotel lobby on Friday night. Songs will include "The Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen, "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Rolling Stones, "Bloodletting" by Concrete Blond, "Space Oddity" by David Bowie, and many more.

Our focus in gaming this year will be Open Gaming. Strategy, Board, and Card games like Carcassone, Settlers of Cataan, Hacienda, HeroClix, Munchkins, Zombies, and Three Dragon Ante (to name only a few) will be available for anyone to come in and play. We are limited on space, but will host several RPG and board game tournaments throughout the weekend. Please check out our sign-up sheets in the gaming room to get involved. We seem likely to have at least two D&D modules over the weekend, one focused on play testing the upcoming 4th Edition. And might even have both a Mutants and Masterminds and a D20 Modern module related to Stargate and/or Torchwood.
